Anne Elizabeth Goddard (née Andrew) passed away March 17, 2016 at Georgian Bay General Hospital. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert (Bob) Goddard of Midland, Ontario, daughters Catharine Farrow (husband David) of Sudbury, Sarah (husband Joe Morache) of Toronto, and adored grandson Wilson Farrow. Anne was raised by her beloved aunt and legal guardian, Betty (Florence, née Andrew) and uncle Bertram (Mac) Macdonald of St. Thomas, both predeceased. Anne was also predeceased by her biological parents, Maurice Andrew and Dorothy Clark. In addition, Anne is survived by her dear ‘brothers’ William (Bill) Macdonald (wife Kathy; children James and Sarah) of Oakville and Alex Macdonald (wife Eeva; children Natalie and Scott; grandson Rhyem) of Dryden. Anne graduated from London Teachers’ College in 1961 and when not homemaker and ‘Mum’ to her daughters, worked in elementary and pre-school education in Mississauga. Crafts, especially weaving, were always a passion of Anne’s, and she was active in weaving guilds in both Mississauga and Tillsonburg. She also instilled in all around her a profound love for animals, especially cats and dogs. However, it was her family, both immediate and extended, that she enjoyed the most. We will forever miss her love, creativity and wonderful sense of humour.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the caring staff in palliative care at the Georgian Bay General Hospital. Final arrangements are entrusted, and all correspondence should be addressed to, Nicholls Funeral Home, 330 Midland Avenue, Midland, Ontario, L4R 3K7 (nichollsfuneral.ca). In lieu of flowers please donate generously to Parkinson Canada at www.parkinson.ca in memory of Anne Goddard. Details for a formal memorial to be held in Toronto at a future date and location will be announced through email distribution and social media to family and friends.
