Armand Wilfred Lapointe
March 5, 1940 - June 25, 2016
Passed away suddenly at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket on June 25, 2016 in his 77th year. Beloved husband for 25 years of Theresa, née Asselin. Dear brother of Maurice. He will be lovingly remembered by his nephew Marc (Nathalie), niece Christine Davis (Bob); great-nephews Merrit and Matthieu; and great-nieces Marlee and Renée. His passions in life were history, sailing and war stories. He was the founder and former leader of the local Compagnie Franche unit and was a former Captain of the Schooner Bee and the Tecumseh. Currently, he was exploring the world of Roman Re-enactment. Armand's influence in the re-enactment community was renowned.
Friends will be received at Nicholls Funeral Home, 330 Midland Avenue, Midland on Wednesday, June 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Margaret's Church, 589 Hugel Avenue, Midland on Thursday, June 30 at 10:30 a.m. Cremation will follow; interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery on Wednesday, July 13 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Vincent de Paul or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
