Bruce Everett John Thompson
Retired Sergeant, Ontario Provincial Police

Passed away unexpectedly at the Baptist Hospital, Jacksonville Florida, in his 77th year. Ev slipped the bonds of unending pain and frustration that bound him to an increasingly joyless world to join his beloved son Andy. Hopefully there is snow. Predeceased by his parents Genevieve and Bruce Edgar Thompson and son Anthony Glen for 16 years. Survived by his wife Margaret Mary, his friends for sixty years and his treasured daughter Mary Vanessa. Grandfather of Felicia, Cody, Breanna and three great grandchildren. He will be remembered by his second best friend Dusty. He enjoyed the company of many cousins and his remaining aunts. Ev was the past president of the Midland Lions Club, Past Commander of the Midland Power Squadron. He was involved in scouting for many years, loved to teach boating skills and Nordic skiing. As a teenager, he was a proud member of the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment "Hasty Pees". His smile would light up a room.
