Charles Ross Kennedy affectionately known as Rossy K, on July 19, 2015 at the age of 88, in Midland Ontario. He loved butter tarts, pie, roast beef, snowmobiling, the fire department and his family (not necessarily in that order). Husband of Helen for 62 years. Father of David, Lynda (Kent Novakowski) and Brian (Marg). Predeceased by his brother, Ted and sister Sally. The pride and joy of his life were his grandchildren, for whom he would do anything. Braden (Laurin), Brent (Shannon), Galen(Adrienne), Matthew, Devon, Raymond, Jessica, Caroline and great-granddaughters Ella and Layla have lost one of their greatest supporters – they could do no wrong in the eyes of their Grandpa. Throughout his life, he was an employee of Ideal Builders Hardware for 53 years, worked as a starter at the CNE stock car races and was the Fire Chief with the Nobleton Volunteer Fire Dept. for over 25 years. He will be missed by members of our extended family- his brother and sister-in-laws, Dave and Karen McCall and June Kennedy, as well as his many nieces and nephews. The family gatherings at the cottage will not be the same without Rossy K sitting on the deck in his Khaki, drink in hand, minding the BBQ - of which he was King. A private family service has taken place. There will an opportunity for friends and family to get together and share memories on September 3rd from 6 to 9 at one of Ross’ favorite places “The Manor” located at 16750 Weston Rd., Kettleby, Ontario.

Many thanks to the staff at the Georgian Bay General Hospital and King’s Place in Midland for the care they provided.
To express condolences to the family please visit nicollsfuneral.ca
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Heart and Stroke foundation or Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation. Donations can be received by Nicholls Funeral Home in Midland.
